After Black Lives Matter march, 2 more Columbia rallies scheduled
Following on the heels of a Black Lives Matter march Sunday night, two rallies are scheduled at the SC Statehouse for Saturday.
One rally is being organized by Building Communities and Families, while the other is a Black Lives Matter/End Police Brutality gathering, according to documents from the SC Department of Administration. The first is set to run from 8 a.m. to noon, and the second is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m.
The paperwork for the BCF rally estimated attendance at 5,000 or more people. The Black Lives Matter/End Police Brutality event lists an estimated 150 attendees. Organizers for the two events have been in communication with each other, BCF spokesman Chris A. Sullivan said.
At its peak, the Sunday march drew 800 people, law enforcement said.
