Court upholds federal charges against Freddie Grant

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the federal conviction of Freddie Grant for being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Grant who is currently serving 17 years on the federal charge, was also convicted and sentenced to 30 years last August for the killing of Northeast Richland teen Gabrielle Swainson.

Grant was convicted on the federal charges in January 2013 following a one-day trial in federal court in Columbia, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
