One person killed and two more hurt in shooting, South Carolina sheriff says
One person was killed Saturday night in South Carolina in a shooting that left two others hospitalized, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said that Daizhan K’Vonte Perry died after getting shot multiple times, according to Sunday’s news release.
At about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Easy Street, the sheriff’s office said. That’s in the Rembert area of Sumter County.
At the home, deputies found Perry, who died at the scene, according to the release.
Two other victims were taken to Prisma Health Tuomey hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds, the sheriff’s office said. Both surviving victims are listed in stable condition, according to the release.
No other injuries were reported.
Information about the shooter, or shooters, and the number of people involved was not available. There was no word about a motive for the gunfire.
No arrests have been reported, but deputies are searching for a person of interest in the shooting, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public, according to the release.

“The investigation remains active as investigators work to swiftly identify and apprehend the person or persons responsible for this senseless and heinous act,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis said in the release.
