Search for missing South Carolina woman who could be in danger
A search is underway in South Carolina for a woman who could be in danger.
Tamara “Nicki” Nicole Evans was publicly reported missing by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Saturday. The woman hasn’t been seen for days, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Evans was last seen at about noon on Friday as she was leaving a Melvin Hill Road home, according to the release. That’s in the Campobello area of Spartanburg County, near Exit 5 on I-26, not far from the state line separating South Carolina and North Carolina.
There was no word if Evans was alone when she was last seen. The sheriff’s office did not say if foul play was suspected in Evans’ ongoing disappearance.
The sheriff’s office said that Evans suffers from mental illness and made statements indicating that she might harm herself. Further information about her condition was not available.
Anyone who sees Evans is asked to immediately call 911.
Those with information about the missing 40-year-old woman can contact the sheriff’s office at 864-503 4591 or nfederico@spartanburgcounty.gov.
