One South Carolina bar made Yelp’s top 100 sports bars in America and it’s not in Greenville or Charleston.
It’s in Columbia. Cock and Bull Pub came in at No. 31.
It’s located in what once was a 1930s bungalow family home then a triplex on Edisto Drive in the Rosewood community.
An unadorned outside hides an ambitious menu, many, many taps and a British style pub feel. Guinness is right at home here, as are the fish and chips and if the pictures are to be believed the meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
One Yelper wrote of the fish and chips, “It’s real haddock and the beading is tasty, thin, and crispy. Also very well seasoned!” She didn’t much like the steak fries she ordered but the coconut gin sour, well, just call her obsessed.
They have other unique cocktails as well as mocktails.
Another Yelper called it an “interesting neighborhood bar, with an excellent selection of beers. The bartender was also such a sweetheart.”
Cock and Bull serves brunch on Sundays, including a steak and cheese omelette, croque monsiuer and French toast. Then there’s Taco Tuesday, music bingo Sundays and best of all during this time, soccer.
They have a special menu for the World Cup including smash burgers, wings and Philly cheese (people on Yelp loved this).
The World Cup begins June 11 and runs through July 19.
The No. 1 spot on Yelp’s list of 100 was Shakespeare Pub & Grille in San Diego, California.

Yelp said the trends in sports bars this year are high-end pub food, built for fans and soccer can be the main event.
