Looking for cheap things to do with the family this summer?

As part of The State’s affordability series, we are taking a look at the best deals and activities you can enjoy at little to no cost in South Carolina as summer approaches, and we have exciting news for movie lovers.

Regal Cinemas will soon bring back its summer movie deal program for some classic family-friendly movies during this summer break, at a price that can’t be beat. For $1, anyone can check out these movies during the week.

“Summer is here, school is out, and this is your chance to spend some extra time with your kids,” Regal Cinemas said. “During summer break, enjoy a series of great family movies returning to the big screen.”

How long does the deal last?

You and your family will have plenty of time to enjoy the deal. Regal’s Summer Movie Express runs between June 1 and Aug. 13 at all participating theaters.

There’s a catch, however. The deal is only active between Monday and Thursday, at 11 a.m.

Movies for $1

Family-friendly movies and light-hearted classics are included in the summer deal. There are 21 movies in total.

Discounted tickets will be available at participating Regal Cinemas locations across South Carolina.

There are three Regal Cinemas in the Columbia area:

Regal Columbiana Grande

Regal Columbiana Grande is located at 1250 Bower Pkwy, Columbia.

Regal Northlake Village

Regal Northlake Village is located at 929 N Lake Dr, Lexington.

Regal Sandhill

Regal Sandhill is located at 450 Town Center Pl, Columbia.

How much are snacks at Regal theaters?

Everyone knows how expensive getting a treat at movie theaters can be. Thankfully, there’s an additional summer deal you should take advantage of.

All attendees of a Summer Movie Express title will receive $3 off a Snack Pack, which includes a junior-sized drink, popcorn, fruit gummies, and/or a cup of refreshingly cold Dippin’ Dots ice cream.
