Search for SC teenager who was kidnapped at gunpoint, Lexington police say

A search is underway for a teenager who was kidnapped at gunpoint Sunday night, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Corvin Gardner, a 17-year-old Lexington resident, was forced from his Hendrix Street home at about 10 p.m. by two unknown males who were armed with handguns, police said Monday in a news release. That’s in Lexington, near the junction of U.S. 378 and West Main Street, as well as the intersection with Gibson Road.

Witnesses saw the juvenile and two suspected kidnappers walking west toward Barr Road from Hendrix Street, and they are believed to have gotten into a car and left the area, according to the release.

There was no word about a motive for the kidnapping.

Police described Gardner as a 5-foot-8, 118-pound male with black hair and brown eyes. He also has a large tattoo on his right forearm, police said.

An Amber Alert has not been issued yet because police don’t have vehicle information, which is a requirement of the alert’s guidelines.

Anyone who has seen Gardner, or has information about him, is asked to contact police at 803-358-1557 or kheath@lexsc.gov. Calls can also be made to CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.

In the case of an emergency, always call 911.
