Amazon filming ‘Road House 2’ movie sequel less than hour drive from Hilton Head. Here’s where
The historic city of Savannah is now in the Hollywood spotlight, as production ramps up on “Road House 2,” the sequel to Amazon MGM Studios’ 2024 remake of the 1980s cult-classic action film.
The movie, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, is currently filming at several iconic locations across the city, drawing attention from residents and visitors alike.
Filming began this week, with crews, lights and movie-making magic spotted throughout Savannah.
Locations scheduled for use over the coming weeks include Forsyth Park, River Street and the American Legion.
About ‘Road House 2’
In the sequel, Gyllenhaal returns as Dalton, a former UFC fighter turned bouncer at a roadside bar in the Florida Keys.
While plot details for the sequel are unknown, production for Road House 2 began in the fall of 2025 and has spanned multiple locations, including the United Kingdom and Malta.
In addition to Gyllenhaal, the sequel features an expanded cast that includes Dave Bautista, Aldis Hodge, Iko Uwais, Leila George, Andrew Bachelor, Peter Sarsgaard and Rob Delaney.
Jay Hieron also returns from the first film as Jax. The movie is directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Will Beall.
The 2024 “Road House” was primarily filmed in the Dominican Republic.
The remake was a reboot of the 1989 Patrick Swayze film and streamed exclusively on Prime Video. It was one of the biggest movie debuts for the platform, attracting 50 million worldwide views in its first two weekends of release.
An official release date for “Road House 2” has not yet been announced.
