SC to get 2 new Target stores. Here’s where
Target, known for its variety of home goods, groceries and fashion items, has officially confirmed plans to open two new stores in South Carolina.
The retailer currently operates 22 locations statewide, with these new stores intended to expand the company’s reach in the Midlands and Upstate areas.
Here’s what we know about the new Target centers and where to find them:
Lexington location
One of the new stores will be built along Augusta Highway in Lexington County, marking Target’s second location in the Lexington area.
The approximately 129,000 square-foot store will be located between Oak Pointe Drive and Jamestowne Court, at 2552 Augusta Highway.
The store will anchor a new shopping center announced by Dallas-based development firm, 413 Solutions. In a February 2025 news release, the company described the project as a “cutting-edge shopping center” and said it is aiming for a fall 2026 opening.
Lexington already has one Target store, located at 5119 Sunset Boulevard. The retailer also operates nearby locations on Garners Ferry Road, Two Notch Road and Harbison Boulevard in Columbia.
Seneca location
Target has also confirmed a new store in Seneca, which will be located at 1810 Sandifer Boulevard. The store will measure approximately 128,855 square feet.
The store will be a part of the new Thornwell Village retail center, located along Highway 123 in Oconee County.
Site work for the Thornwell Village development began in the spring of 2025. An official opening date for the Seneca Target has not yet been announced.
One of the nearest existing Target stores for this area is currently located in Anderson at 3519 Clemson Boulevard.
