South Carolina is often known for its beaches, history and handful of small southern towns.

For many, taking a stroll through downtown is a frequent activity to end a long workday or spend a Saturday afternoon.

If you’re still searching for the ideal place to take a walk, bike or picnic, HGTV has recently rounded up a list of the 40 most charming downtowns in the country — with two South Carolina locations making the cut.

HGTV states that these locations were recognized for their classic southern feel and “vibrant” scenes that “invite you in.”

Here are the South Carolina downtowns that made the list:

Conway, South Carolina

Located near popular beach destination, Myrtle Beach, HGTV noted that Conway was packed with southern charm. From the Riverwalk, which trails down the Waccamaw River, to the numerous dining locations and murals scattered throughout the historic streets, Conway was a top spot for HGTV reviewers.

Greenville, South Carolina

On the other side of the Palmetto State, along the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Greenville also made the list. Offering a more urban feel, downtown Greenville is home to cafes, gardens, boutiques and more.
