Check your tickets. Grand prize winning lottery ticket sold at SC gas station

A winning Palmetto Cash 5 lottery ticket was sold at a Midlands gas station, South Carolina Education Lottery officials announced Monday.

The ticket was purchased at a Circle K gas station at 136 E. Dekalb Street in Camden, according to a news release. The prize, part of a rolling jackpot, is worth $170,000. It is South Carolina’s 27th jackpot win.

Now, a search is underway for the winner.

The Palmetto Cash 5 ticket matched all five numbers picked in Saturday’s drawing, and the jackpot rolled seven time’s before the win.

The winning numbers were 14, 17, 20, 25 and 36. The odds were 1 in 850,668.

Saturday’s jackpot winner has 180 days to claim their prize. More information can be found at sceducationlottery.com. Whoever it is may remain anonymous, as South Carolina is one of 11 states that allows lottery winners to do so.

Net proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services, lottery officials said.

The Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot for Monday’s drawing is $110,000.
