Former SC Moselle estate of Alex Murdaugh just relisted for $2.2M after big revamp. Take a look
The Moselle property, previously owned by disbarred attorney Alex Murdaugh, has now been freshly renovated and relisted for sale.
The 48.2-acre estate, located at 4147 Moselle Road, was the site of the 2021 double homicide of Murdaugh’s wife and youngest son, a case that drew national attention and led to his conviction in 2023.
The property, located in Islandton in Colleton County, was put back on the market on Sept. 8 for $2.2 million, a $550,000 price reduction from its prior listing cost of $2.75 million.
The current owner, Alex Blair, purchased the estate at auction in February 2024.
After purchasing the home, Blair invested roughly $1 million in renovations before putting the property back on the market with the price cut, according to CJ Brown, real estate broker and founder of Brown Land + Plantation Advisors.
Brown said that most of the renovations were done to the interior of the home.
“It does not look like the same house at all on the inside,” he said. “The new wood floors are spectacular, and it’s a nice kind of refresh of the whole home.”
Moselle is a two-story, Lowcountry plantation-style home that now offers four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Driving up to the home, there is a custom iron gate entrance leading to a quarter-mile, live oak-lined driveway.
The home has new wood flooring and new modern fixtures, revamping the interior of the home from its original state.
Moselle also has a new master wing and spa-like bathroom.
The inside layout includes an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings connecting the main entry area, great room and kitchen, complete with high-end appliances.
Outside, the property includes 10 acres of fenced horse pasture, along with two large barns with a secondary service entrance.
The Moselle estate is available and in move-in-ready condition.
