A man was shot and a 20-year-old woman is in jail, South Carolina deputies say

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigated a shooting at a home in Columbia on Saturday afternoon.

Someone called 911 to report that a woman shot a man she knew at a home in the 100 block of Leslie Loch Lane, the sheriff’s department said. That’s in an area of Lexington County where Columbia and Irmo border each other, near the intersection of Lake Murray Boulevard and St. Andrews Road.

The caller said the shooting victim was on the way to the hospital.

As of late Saturday night, the victim was still hospitalized, according to the sheriff’s department. Further information on his condition was not available.

No other injuries were reported.

Chrystal Gordon, 20, was charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, the sheriff’s department said.

No bond has been set for Gordon, who’s being held in the Lexington County Detention Center, jail records show.

There was no word about a motive for the shooting. Information about the nature of the relationship between the shooter and the victim was not available.

Deputies investigated the scene where they interviewed witnesses in addition to going to the hospital to find out more about the shooting.

Despite Gordon’s arrest, the sheriff’s department encouraged anyone with information about the shooting to call CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
