SC sheriff searches for man wanted for early- morning murder and attempted murder
Police are searching for a man after a shooting early Saturday, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office announced.
The sheriff’s office has issued warrants for the arrest of Troy Cornelius Wells for murder and attempted murder after an incident at the 1700 block of North Main Street in Sumter County.
An investigation and evidence found at the scene identified Wells as the shooter, officials said.
The incident is still “very active,” said Mark Bordeaux, a public information officer with the sheriff’s office. It began with two gunshot victims being brought to Prisma Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.
The Sumter Sheriff’s Office will release more information as it becomes available, Bordeaux said.
Officials are asking people to call 911 if they see Wells. People can report sightings anonymously for a possible reward at www.p3tips.com.
