Want $200K a year in SC? Here are the highest-paid open state jobs for July so far
To get one of the highest-paying full-time jobs offered by the state of South Carolina in July, you’ll mostly need to be an attorney or have a medical degree.
The state currently has eight open positions for full-time jobs on its jobs portal website that pay up to $150,000 or more a year. The top jobs are all related to law and health care, except for one position in social services.
Out of them all, two jobs are tied at the top for highest salary.
One of those top-paying positions is circuit public defender for the 3rd judicial circuit, with a salary of $212,786 a year.
The state’s website shows that the attorney position, posted open since June 30, would be in Sumter County, working for the Commission on Indigent Defense. The person hired would be responsible for administering and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Circuit Public Defender Office, supervising the public defenders and other staff serving the office. Other responsibilities include actively participating in representation of clients and keeping and maintaining appropriate records.
The other highest-paying open state job listed is circuit public defender for the 16th judicial circuit, with an equal salary of $212,786 a year. The public defender job for York County lists the same responsibilities as the other one listed above.
Third on the list is a physician job with a salary range of $160,000 to $200,000. The position would be for DDSN’s Coastal Regional Center in Dorchester County. Work responsibilities would include providing direct patient care like routine physicals, referring for inpatient and specialty care, working with teams to develop comprehensive care plans for patients and providing on-call availability.
