The residence offers more land and more privacy than typical market options, which allows Spring Island homeowners to be as social or reclusive as their mood fits due to the separation of nearby properties, according to the property’s sole owners and current sellers Gary and Louanne Shimmin.

When building their Spring Island home, Louanne and Gary Shimmin chose to replicate their previous loft floor plan, while “simply swapping the Sears Tower for marshes and the Colleton River.”

They chose to use the second floor of the primary living space to take advantage of the “marvelous” view their Lowcountry, Spring Island property had to offer.

The residence contains several unique offerings to the area such as its colorful, contemporary and urban exterior with unique interior additions like black-and-white tiling, vast windowed rear wall, half circle window design and modern staircase.

The home offers its guests and residents their own wine cellar, naturally sunlit rooms, tall ceilings, steel-framed hurricane grade windows and hurricane shutters and outdoor entertainment areas.
