South Carolina

This is the most popular Christmas tradition in SC, Hershey survey says. Is it your favorite?

From making signature recipes to building gingerbread houses, watching movies and hanging mistletoe, many families have their own holiday traditions.

To break down the most popular holiday traditions per state throughout the country, The Hershey Company, one of the largest chocolate manufacturing companies in the world, conducted a survey to find the top 10 most-popular holiday traditions by state and created a holiday candy pairing guide designed to compliment each activity and further its enjoyment. The survey used was conducted through OnePoll, an international market research agency.

South Carolina’s favorite holiday tradition is to exchange gifts, according to 73% of the survey respondents, who are busy wrapping and embellishing presents for the activity.

The Reese’s 1-pound Peanut Butter Cups candy was chosen to best accompany this activity.

As festive as gift wrapping may be, it’s not the overall favorite tradition in the U.S. Many other traditions were selected in the survey as the activity to really get the family into the holiday spirit.
