This Halloween costume is set to be the most popular in SC this year, says recent study
With Halloween just around the corner, have you wondered what South Carolina’s most popular costume will be this year?
It looks like vampires are the most popular Halloween costume for South Carolina, says recent research.
According to the recent study by All Home Connections, the research was conducted by using information gathered from discovering the search volume of popular costumes and by using Google Trends to search the list of costumes to determine the most searched Halloween costume in each state.
This is the fifth year in a row that the team at All Home Connections, an authorized AT&T retailer, determined the most popular Halloween costumes in each state. This year, witches and cats, which are classic costumes for the holiday, took the lead as the most popular with a combined total of 22 states searching for these costumes more than any other. Cats won as the most popular costume this year by one state.
Recent popular Disney movies also had an impact on which costumes Americans will be donning this year. Halloween costumes inspired by the movies “Lightyear” and “Encanto” also made the list with a combined total of 11 states searching for characters from these new films as well.
Other movie or television inspired characters for the remaining states include Minions from the “Despicable Me” film franchise, Elvis from the recent “Elvis” movie, Jon Snow from “Game of Thrones,” Eleven from “Stranger Things,” characters from “Top Gun” and Wednesday Addams from “The Addams Family.”
Dragon costumes were additionally popular in several states, which was presumed by the study to be due to the release of popular new television series “House of the Dragon.”
Behind cats and witches, vampires were popular in states other than just South Carolina. This costume was the third most searched costume out of the states and was referenced to the recent resurrection of popularity and interest in the “Twilight” film franchise by the study.
“Hotel Transylvania” is also a popular movie that resurfaces around Halloween and features vampires.
Other costumes included among popular state choices were ninjas, dinosaurs and zombies.
