UPDATE: Missing Midlands man with heart condition found after search, police say

The search for missing Midlands man with medical issues had a happy ending, the Sumter Police Department said Sunday.

Police said Larry Edward Wilson was found and is safe.

The 72-year-old Sumter man was reported missing after he was last seen driving away from his home at 7 p.m. Saturday, police said in a news release.

Wilson has a medical history that includes diabetes and a heart condition, according to the release.

Information on where Wilson was found was not available, police only said he was discovered a short time before sending out a news release at 3:25 p.m.

“Thanks for everyone’s assistance,” police said of the community’s help with the search.
