Here’s where Vegas odds put Democratic candidates ahead of the North Carolina primary
Bookmakers taking wagers on the North Carolina Democratic primary can’t agree on which candidate is the safe bet.
Polls show three candidates in a statistical tie ahead of the state’s Super Tuesday election to pick a presidential nominee.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Vice President Joe Biden and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg are all polling within just a couple points of each other in the North Carolina primary, according to poll tracking site FiveThirtyEight.
Betting site Bovada puts Biden as the top pick to win with odds of -150, and Sanders second with +130. The odds on Michael Bloomberg are +1,500.
That means a $100 bet on Sanders would pay $130, or $1,500 on Bloomberg.
Bovada puts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Amy Klobuchar and former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at +12,500 and Tom Steyer at +15,000.
United Kingdom bookmaker 888sports puts Biden and Sanders even in North Carolina with both at -118, according to Bookies News. Bloomberg is at +800.
Buttigieg is at +2,500, and Warren and Klobuchar trail with both at +3,300 in 888sports’ odds for North Carolina.
BetOnline puts Sanders as the favorite to win in North Carolina at -150.
Nationally, Sanders is leading the odds to take the Democratic nomination for president, according to Real Clear Politics, which collects odds from six betting sites.
