There’s a public health alert about a Walmart brand food aimed at kids
Chicken nuggets sold under Walmart’s store brand were the subject of a public health alert after a state agency found unsafe levels of lead.
In announcing the alert about Great Value Dino Shaped Chicken Breast Nuggets, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service didn’t name the state, only saying “the problem was discovered during routine surveillance sampling conducted by a state partner.”

The nuggets went to Walmart stores nationwide.
“Lead is especially dangerous for pregnant women, infants, and young children because it can harm developing brains and nervous systems, sometimes causing lasting problems,” the USDA said. “There is no safe amount of lead exposure.”
The nuggets came in 29-ounce bags with a best by date of Feb. 10, 2027, lot No. 0416DPO1215 and establishment No. P44164 on the bag.
