Someone tell Fido and the kids! Hilton Head to reopen dog park and playgrounds soon

Looking for a place to host a socially distanced picnic or let the dog run?

The remainder of Hilton Head Island’s parks, picnic shelters and playgrounds will reopen Saturday after being closed as coronavirus precautions.

Chaplin Community Park — including its dog park, tennis courts and recreational fields — Bristol Sports Arena, Veterans’ Park, Green Shell Park, Hilton Head Park, the Cordillo tennis courts and Compass Rose Park are all set to reopen.

Jarvis Creek Park and Crossings Park were reopened earlier this month.

All bathrooms, playgrounds and picnic shelters will also reopen on Saturday.

However, special events and organized gatherings are not authorized at this time, according to a news release from the Town of Hilton Head Island.
