U.S. Sen. Tim Scott files for re-election

U.S. Sen. Tim Scott filed paperwork Wednesday to run for re-election, according to information from the S.C. Election Commission.

As of Wednesday afternoon, he was the only candidate to file.

Scott, a Republican, has served in the Senate since 2013.
