U.S. Sen. Tim Scott to run for re-election

U.S. Sen. Tim Scott plans to run for re-election, according to a campaign release.

Scott will file candidate paperwork with the S.C. Election Commission in Columbia Friday morning, the release said.

He has served in the Senate since 2013.
