Bluffton elections office to temporarily reduce hours

Beaufort County's voter registration and elections satellite office in Bluffton will reduce its operating hours now that the Bluffton elections are over, the office announced Thursday.

The office at 61-B Ulmer Road will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, but will be closed until Dec. 2 over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Beginning Dec. 2, the office will return to its typical 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. office hours each Wednesday.

"We're usually open just one a day week down there, but when we go into election mode, we try to provide the five day a week service," county elections director Marie Smalls said. "Then we'll ramp back up early next year ahead of the presidential primary and a busy 2016."
