Colbert Busch discusses 1988 contempt-of-court arrest with Charleston news affiliate

First Congressional candidate Elizabeth Colbert Busch is blaming Republican Mark Sanford for leaking information about her 1988 arrest on contempt of court charges.

In a new interview with WCBD, the Charleston NBC affiliate, Colbert Busch describes her first marriage as an abusive relationship that she left for her three children's sake. She said her then-husband falsely claimed she was keeping the children from him, frustrating the judge.

"The judge became frustrated with the situation and that's how I ended up where I was," she said in the interview. "As a mother would I do it again? You bet I would."
