Election results for Beaufort County School Board and other important but unseen roles

It was a night of incumbent wins in Beaufort County for the 2024 general election as residents voted three county council seat holders and a number of state legislators back into office. Voters also rejected the county’s controversial “penny tax” proposed to fund infrastructure projects, and the neighboring Jasper County unseated its sheriff in favor of a former top cop.

Here is a list of down-ballot results from the Nov. 5 race, including school board and two public service commissions that govern water, sewage and utility services on Fripp and Hilton Head islands.

Likely due to the fact that early voting is taking place at the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County, political campaigns signs inundate the intersection near its entrance at Industrial Avenue and Burton Hill Road as photographed on Oct. 24, 2024 in Beaufort.
