York Glover, the Democrat incumbent for District 3, who ran unopposed, was reelected with 96.2% of the unofficial vote Tuesday night. With this win he extended his representation of St. Helena and surrounding areas until 2028.

Serving on the Beaufort County Council since 2017, Glover has been a consistent advocate for the district’s economic and cultural growth, with a special focus on balancing development and preserving the unique character of rural communities.

Glover’s platform emphasizes promoting economic opportunities tailored to rural areas, advancing educational initiatives and expanding public infrastructure, including transportation, stormwater drainage and road improvements, according to his platform on Facebook. A strong proponent of youth engagement, Glover has also prioritized recreation programs, local arts and support for agricultural businesses.

Glover’s priorities also include improving healthcare quality and access for all district residents, promoting public safety and protecting both family interests and local property values.
