Jeff Bradley, the Republican incumbent, will serve another two years in the State House District 123 seat. His win was confirmed around 11 p.m. Tuesday, with 100% precincts reported. He received 14,123 votes, or 61.2% among the electorate in District 123, an area that includes Hilton Head and Daufuskie islands and Levy.

He defeated Democratic opponent Lisette Ciafldi, who secured 8,938 votes, or 38.7%, according to the unofficial tally from 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Bradley will face the issues at the top of mind for district residents, from infrastructure projects to the ferry service to and from Daufuskie Island.

He was first elected to represent the district in 2014. In 2020, Bradley secured 62.5% of votes against his opponent, Christine deVries, and in 2022 he ran unopposed.

In his time in the State House, he has served as Chairman of the Regulations and Administrative Procedures Committee, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Cyber Crime committee and Vice Chair of the Education Committee.

His top three priorities if elected again for this term, he said, would be improving education outcomes at the state level, eliminating outdated or burdensome regulations to foster a more business-friendly environment, and incorporating Artificial Intelligence education across all age groups.

The State House currently consists of 124 part-time citizen legislators elected every two years to represent the state’s districts. Leading into Election Day, there were 87 Republicans, 35 Democrats and two vacancies in the House. The General Assembly’s annual session will begin on the second Tuesday in January and runs through the second Thursday in May.
