Here’s when profiles of Beaufort County candidates will appear in the newspaper

As the general election approaches (with early voting already underway), The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette plans to run election questionnaires in the newspaper for all of the major local contested races in Beaufort County.

Already published are the three candidates for Hilton Head mayor: JoAnn Orischak, Tuesday, Oct. 25; Alan Perry, Wednesday, Oct. 26, and Michael Santomauro, Thursday, Oct. 27.

A story about the fundraising efforts of the two candidates in a hotly contested race for Hilton Head Town Council, Ward 4, will run in print Friday, Oct. 28. The contest pits incumbent Councilwoman Tamara Becker against former Town Councilwoman Kim Likins.

Other races will appear as follows:

Sunday, Oct. 30: Beaufort County Council

Monday, Oct. 31: Hilton Head Town Council

Tuesday, Nov. 1: Hilton Head Town Council

Wednesday, Nov. 2: Beaufort City Council

Thursday, Nov. 3: Beaufort County School Board

Friday, Nov. 4: Beaufort County School Board

Sunday, Nov. 6: State House races

The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette sent questionnaires to all candidates in major contested races in the county. Their answers were limited to 150 words for each question.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. The polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Go here to find your polling place.
