2022 election season is heating up in Beaufort County. Here’s who filed to run
Election season is upon us in Beaufort County and with the filing period closed for county and statewide elections, voters have a better idea of who will be on the ballot later this year.
Aside from seven of the 11 seats on the Beaufort County Council being up for election, there’s four countywide positions: sheriff, probate judge, county auditor and county treasurer.
Only one person each filed to run for the probate judge and county treasurer positions, the latter an incumbent. Meanwhile, the sheriff and county auditor positions both have two Republican candidates which will land on the primary ballot June 14 to decide who will be listed on the general election ballot in November.
There will also be primary elections for County Council districts 2, 6, 8, 9 and 11.
