Hardeeville mayor, city councilmen won’t face opposition in November general election
Despite the City of Hardeeville holding three municipal elections this November — one for mayor and two for seats on City Council — leadership is expected to remain the same.
The three incumbents were the only people to file for their respective seats by Monday’s noon deadline.
Mayor Harry Williams, Councilman John Carroll, and Councilman Walter “Bo” White will be the only names on the ballot for their races.
Williams was elected mayor in 2016, just months after winning a special election in 2015 to City Council.
Carroll also joined Council in 2016.
White is a newcomer on Council, winning his seat for the first time in January during a special election.
Hardeeville’s City Council is composed of the mayor and four councilmembers, who all serve four-year terms. Carolyn Kassel, who serves as Mayor Pro Tem, and David Spisso aren’t up for reelection this year.
