League of Women Voters to hold forum on local sales tax initiatives

The League of Women Voters of Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Area will hold a public meeting to inform voters on the sales tax referendum that will appear on the ballot for the Nov. 8 election.

Both Beaufort County and the Beaufort County School District are putting individual penny sales tax increases before voters.

The League of Women Voters will host the school district’s chief financial officer Phyllis White and county sales tax commission chairman Mike Sutton at meeting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry, 110 Malphrus Rd., Bluffton.

Presentations will be made, followed by a question and answer session, according to a league news release.
