“I think I’m overdosing,” Bluffton man tells friend on the phone, police say
A Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report states a woman was talking to a friend on the phone when he said, “I think I’m overdosing.”
The woman called the Sheriff’s Office and let them know the man previously overdosed several times before.
Beaufort County Deputies arrived at the Bluffton residence to no answer at the door. The door was unlocked so they entered the residence where they were met by the man’s father.
The father said his son was upstairs in his bedroom, the report states.
Upon entering the bedroom, deputies found the man on the floor at the foot of the bed. He was conscience and able to communicate, the report states.
The man was pale and slurring his words, a deputy noted. He told police he felt immediately sick after shooting up heroin and asked to be transported to the hospital.
EMS arrived and transported to the man to Coastal Carolina Medical Center. The report states the man did not seem to be at immediate risk of death.
