3 siblings killed in crash were going to get medicine for their mom, Texas cops say

A big sister and her younger brothers were killed in a car crash while running an errand for their mother, Texas police told news outlets.

The sister was driving, with her younger brothers riding along, on San Antonio’s northeast side after 10 p.m. on Jan. 8 when a Jeep smashed into their Nissan sedan with enough force to flip it, police said in a news release.

All three siblings died at the scene, according to police.

Evelyn Flores was in her early 20s, TV station KENS reported. Her brothers Ivan and Julian were 17 and 10 years old.

They were on their way to buy medicine for their mom from a store located just three blocks from home, police told KSAT.

When they didn’t come back, their mother went out to look for them and came upon the crash scene, the outlet reported.

The Jeep driver isn’t at fault, police said, adding that the Nissan failed to yield the right of way.

The driver stayed at the scene, cooperated with investigators and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to San Antonio police.
