A new homeowner found a decomposing body in the basement of his new house, Ohio officials say.

The new resident purchased his home in a foreclosure sale and was checking out the Cleveland Heights property on Tuesday, Nov. 29, when he discovered the body, a city official told McClatchy News.

The Cuyahoga County medical examiner identified the body as Nina Fielden, 71, who was the home’s previous owner, the official said. Fielden’s body showed “no signs of trauma,” according to the examiner.

Police said they are still investigating the incident.

Cleveland Heights is about 10 miles east of Cleveland.
