A 12-year-old was killed and eleven others were injured after a teen crashed a stolen SUV, according to news release by Colorado police.

Aurora police officers were called after reports of a two-vehicle crash on South Buckley road and East Kent Drive around 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 29, according to a news release by Aurora Police Department.

Eleven people were injured as a result of the crash, with ages ranging from 6 months old to 31 years old, according to police. Additionally, a 12-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Dodge Journey that had been reported stolen earlier that day was being driven by a teen “northbound on South Buckley Road at a high rate of speed,” according to police.

The 15-year-old driver hit a truck that was turning left onto East Kent Drive on the passenger side of the vehicle, according to police.

There were four people inside the truck, according to police. They were all sent to a local hospital and two of the adults suffered life-threatening injuries.

The Dodge SUV held seven teen passengers and the 12-year-old, police said. The other teens were also sent to the hospital, some with life-threatening injuries.

The 15-year-old is currently in custody for an outstanding warrant and faces multiple charges, according to KKTV. Police believe he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Aurora is about 15 miles east of Denver.
