Bogus 911 report of suicide leads cops to murdered woman, California police say
A false 911 report that a 24-year-old woman shot herself led to the arrest of a Los Angeles man accused of killing her, California police reported.
Ryan Vintch, 24, called 911 at 1:37 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, and told dispatchers that Alondra Flores had shot and killed herself, a Los Angeles Police Department news release said.
Officers found Flores’ body near Oxnard Street and Ranchito Avenue in Van Nuys, and paramedics pronounced her dead, the release said.
A preliminary investigation showed her wounds were not consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot, police said.
Detectives found Vintch in a nearby home and detained him, the release said. He was later arrested on suspicion of murder. A handgun also was found.
