Clerk fights off robber with her hands and a hammer

A store clerk used a hammer and whatever else she could get her hands on to fight off a man with a gun attempting to rob the business, according to authorities in Burke County, Ga.

The suspect is seen in surveillance footage sticking a gun in the woman’s face. Moments later the clerk pushes the gun away and attacks the man with the cash drawer authorities say he demanded she hand over to him.

The woman finished the job with a hammer, scaring the man from the store.

The suspect was arrested and charged with criminal attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during a crime, according to a Wednesday report from WRDW in Augusta.
