Buy a lottery ticket in Bluffton? Double check it because you may have won $10,000

A lottery ticket worth $10,000 was bought at a Bluffton grocery story Tuesday, but no one has claimed the prize, an S.C. Education Lottery news release said.

The Food Lion on Okatie Village Drive near Sun City-Hilton Head sold the winning ticket.

Four of the ticket’s five white ball numbers (8, 10, 15, 17, and 57) matched along with the gold Megaball number 12. The odds of this winning match were 1 in 931,001.

More than 6,100 people in South Carolina have winning tickets for prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000. Players have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Since no one matched all six numbers, the Mega Millions jackpot for Friday stands at $68 million.

Proceeds from the S.C Education Lottery are used for funding education, prizes, retailer commission, and paying contractors.
