He won the lottery on Hilton Head but wasn’t ready for the toll (booth)

A Georgia man who bought a winning lottery ticket on Hilton Head Island was so surprised that he didn’t have his money ready for a toll booth attendant on his way out of town.

According to a news release from the South Carolina Education Lottery, the man — who was not named — bought a $125,000 scratch-off ticket in the $5 Lucky Loot game at Kangaroo Express #1650 on Lagoon St.

“I didn’t have my money ready to pay the toll,” he said. “I was so surprised I just won the Lottery.”

“I’ll be back to Hilton Head,” he added.

One top prize of $125,000 remains in the Lucky Loot game, at odds of 1 in 480,000.
