Two roadway repaving projects along Bluffton Parkway are expected to wrap up by next week.

The first project, currently underway, involves grinding down — also known as milling — and repaving a stretch of Bluffton Parkway between Buck Island Road and Simmonsville Road.

Milling of the roadway is expected to be complete by Saturday. The repaving portion of the project will take place between June 21 and June 23, Andrea Atherton, a project manager with Beaufort County’s engineering department, said Thursday.

All of the work will be completed at night time to minimize impacts on drivers, she said.

The roadway will remain open during the project, but one lane on each side of the road will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

On the evening of June 20, crews will work to smooth the road surface at the intersection of Bluffton Parkway and Malphrus Road.

That project is expected to be completed in one night, Atherton said.

The resurfacing work will cost roughly $500,000, according to county documents.
