US 278 lanes to close at night for construction

One lane on both the east and westbound sides of U.S. 278 in greater Bluffton will be closed nightly from June 12 through June 17.

The closures, in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., will allow construction crews to complete paving work between Buckingham Plantation Drive and the Hilton Head Island bridges.

Drivers are asked to be aware of workers and equipment, and should expect slower speeds and delays while the lanes are closed.
