Driver dies in hospital after Hilton Head Island collision
The driver of a car that collided with another on Hilton Head Island on Monday afternoon died at the hospital from his or her injuries, according to the SC Highway Patrol.
Around 4:30 p.m., a Chrysler heading south on Union Cemetery Road pulled into the path of a westbound Dodge, according to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones.
Both drivers were taken to Hilton Head Hospital, where the Chrysler driver, whose name and age were not immediately available, later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
The other driver, Johanna Garcia, 31, was treated for what Jones described as minor injuries. A female passenger was uninjured.
The wreck remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
