Islanders’ Beach Park partially closed for beach renourishment
Portions of the Islanders’ Beach Park on Hilton Head Island will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking effective immediately due to the island’s upcoming beach renourishment project.
The public beach on Folly Field Road is the main construction access point for the project, scheduled to begin July 1, and the partial restriction is required to facilitate the truck delivery of beach renourishment pipeline. The pipeline will be off-loaded and then transported to Islanders Beach for storage and assembly.
The partial closure will remain in place for the duration of the project, which is expected to last through mid-October. Only those vehicles with a town-issued parking pass are authorized to park in the remaining available spaces.
Public beach access and parking will be available at nearby Folly Field and Driessen Beach Parks. Detailed project information is available online at www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov.
