Ground to be broken for revamped Hardeeville welcome center

State Representative William G. "Bill" Herbkersman will lead a groundbreaking ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday for the rebuilding of South Carolina's official welcome center on Interstate 95 near Hardeeville.

The event will take place near the existing facility located at mile marker 4.5 northbound. Joining Herbkersman will be Duane Parrish, Director of the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism and other leaders of the tourism industry in the Lowcountry.
