Bluffton Police: Charges possible in road rage incident caught on camera

Two people involved in a road-rage fight caught on camera in Bluffton may have charges coming their way as the investigation into the altercation continued Monday.

The incident was caught on camera from a second-story window Sept. 5 in the town's Promenade district and involved one man and two women.

The victim, who identified herself as Kerstin, said Friday she was attacked by a man and woman who accused her of speeding and nearly hitting their children. Kerstin said the pair became irate after she tried to apologize and pointed out they had driven the wrong way down a one-way street.

The woman then got out of her vehicle, smacked Kerstin's coffee into her face and began hitting her.

The man also exited the vehicle and grabbed her, Kerstin said. As she fought to break free, she was forced to the pavement, where the pair continued to attack her.

Kerstin left the altercation with a broken fingertip, a torn off fingernail and bruises on her face and neck.

The incident remains under investigation and the suspects have been identified, Lt. Joseph Babkiewicz, investigations commander of the Bluffton Police Department, said Monday.
