Two killed, one critically injured in head-on crash on Lady’s Island
Two people were killed and another was hospitalized with critical injuries after a head-on crash Sunday night on Lady’s Island.
The collision between a Subaru and Honda happened around 10:50 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of U.S. 21 (Sea Island Parkway) and Eustis Landing Road, according to the Lady’s Island - St. Helena Fire District. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing the Subaru to catch fire.
Officials said the 54-year-old man who was driving the Subaru and a 17-year-old female passenger in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old male in the Honda was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Sea Island Parkway was shut down in both directions for several hours as emergency crews responded to the scene.
