Sea Pines Circle will still be open this week, but nighttime drivers who would normally use the outside lanes to directly turn one street over will have to enter and immediately exit the circle instead.

It will function as a roundabout with one lane while the circle’s outside lanes will be closed Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. During the closure, the town is landscaping the Pope Avenue, Palmetto Bay Road and William Hilton Parkway median approaches.

“They’re doing the work on the medians overnight to try to ease the traffic,” spokesperson Andrew Davis said of the timing. “The idea is to not cause as much trouble with traffic as humanly possible.”

The town is putting in new plants and cleaning debris from the medians.
