Crash near Hilton Head bridges slowing traffic on US 278 from Bluffton Wednesday morning

A crash near the Hilton Head bridges blocked the left eastbound lane of U.S. 278 Wednesday morning, causing traffic slowdowns as far back as Bluffton Road in Bluffton, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Once onto the bridge, traffic appeared to be flowing normally as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, but drivers in the area should use caution and expect significant delays traveling east through Bluffton toward Hilton Head.
